The directors - We call the members of the management committee 'directors' coz they direct our work - no big deal, they're just volunteers!

Jules has been an active member of FirstSigns for many years. She is known by her real name of Jules on the Message Board

Wedge has taken the time to listen to my ideas and aspirations for six years now and it's great to be able to give something back. I feel proud to be working with him for FirstSigns as we continue to move onwards and upwards in all directions.”

Jules writes a lot for FirstSigns and has found that working for FirstSigns is the perfect environment for her to channel her enthusiasm and dedication to self-injury awareness.

“We have achieved so much already, but there is still so much more to be done. The Mission of FirstSigns describes perfectly how we envisage our organisation developing.”

Jules has personal experience of self-harm and self-injury, and feels strongly that self-injury should never be seen as something that just affects teenage girls, and is particularly keen to promote awareness among males and the older generations.

“I feel that older people and guys who self-injure might feel more alone and unable to reach out for the help they need. I hope that one day every single person affected in any way by self-harm will have access to FirstSigns.”

As well as volunteering her time to FirstSigns, Jules runs her own internet business. In her spare time she loves writing and is an avid reader.

FirstSigns is run entirely by the Directors and Supporters who give their time for free.

FirstSigns has many projects that require printing, we will only be able to pay for printing if we receive donations, bursaries or grants.

See the "help contribute" page for details of how you can help!
